Little Miss Monet

I want to tell everyone about Monet
Monet is the little girl I nanny
But it's more than that, I am her big sister, 2nd mom and best friend
The first time I moved to California I was 18 and just graduated high school
Monet was 3 at the time {so cute}
I lived with the Newton Family for 6 months
In that 6 months Monet and I created a bond that will never be broken
I never would have guessed that I would move back here to San Luis and start babysitting her again at age 5
Monet is now 7
and one of the best friends I have ever had

She just recently gave me this note
 Translation:
Thank you Hayley for being my friend and my nanny. you support me, all of your wishes should come true because you are a great person.
love- Monet
 So Sweet!!
I really love this girl and since we are usually together 5 days a week, when i don't get to see her for a couple days, I really miss her!!

 I love watching Monet get older and learn new things
I love seeing the joy in her eyes when she gets excited
I love sitting in one room and hearing her laugh all by herself in the other

When Kyle and I first started dating-Monet had a BIG crush on Kyle too!
When we would talk about him I would tell her i get the butterflies and she would say "SO DO I!!" with a big smile on her face! :)
After i printed this picture for her she took it and put it in a frame in her bedroom
But after time I think she realized she wasn't going to be able to marry him and so she settled for being his best bud!

Monet is so sweet and kind hearted
{Yes, she does have her days-but what 7 year old doesn't}
By the way she talks to me whether it's about her friends, family, teachers or the stranger we just passed on the street, I know she just wants everyone to be happy
I often find her thinking about what she can do for others or how she can make them happy
I am so proud of Monet!

Monet just finished first grade
A couple days before she finished school we were driving in the car and she said, "Hayley, how old will you be when I'm in high school?"
I sat for a second trying to do the math...
Then she said "You aren't going to be a Grandma are you!? Cause I really don't know if I want to always be hanging out with a Grandma!"
haha. I said "No, not even close!!"

I love my little Miss Monet
& want her to always make the right decisions and be happy in every way as she grows up

San Francisco

Kyle planned a surprise weekend getaway
So we packed our bags and Friday morning we were on the 101 driving North
about an hour and half into our trip we got a flat tire, so we pulled over to throw on the spare.
The tires we had on the car were "special" and so that made it impossible to get the spare on. So we found a guy at the truck stop who patched our tire so that we could drive 2 miles down the road to the tire shop
The Tire King
There we got all new tires for our car (had to get the most expensive ones on because that's all they had in at that time)
So 3 1/2 hours and $XXX later we were frustrated and back on the road headed to our destination, which was...
 San Francisco

That night we just walked around and had dinner at a little pizza shop.
Neither of us had ever stayed in San Francisco, so it was something we had both wanted to do.
I had no idea there were sooo many homeless people there!

The next day Kyle had spa treatments planned.
{My favorite thing to do}
We went to the spa around 11, got our couples massage and then hung out at the spa for hours after, enjoying the pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna
 I would have to say that the Nob Hill Spa was the best part of the getaway

We went back to our hotel after and got ready and took the trolly to Pier 39

There were only 2 sea lions out on the docks, which was a bummer
and it was so windy but we had a fun time walking around and being tourist
 {Alcatraz Island behind us. We didn't get to take a tour of it, but it is something we both wanted to do}

 We had fun at IT'SUGAR

Our Hotel was nice and we were on the top floor- 17th floor
This was our view from our room

Sunday morning we woke up, checked out of our hotel and went to see the Golden Gate Bridge
There was no where to park and so many people so we didn't get a picture from the normal spot, but we got one
{The Golden Gate Bridge is that small arch in the background. haha.}

We had a fun weekend because we were together
We learned a lot of lessons as a young married couple
We probably won't be visiting San Francisco again anytime soon
and we now know that we never want to live up north, its just not for us!

I'm so grateful for my sweet husband and that he is so thoughtful! I couldn't ask for anyone better

4th of July

We had such a wonderful 4th of July
We went to our friends, Leanne and Ryan's, house
They live on a Ranch and planned a great party!

The men played paintball for a couple hours
Kyle had a lot of fun & I had fun watching!
 We went on a little four-wheeler ride
{Which really made me miss Idaho}

 Leanne made this awesome cake
They had some fun fireworks
A DJ, who entertained the kids
live entertainment
& Yummy food

4th of July is always great in Teton Valley-so I was missing it
and Kyle's family always has a big party in Camarillo- so he was missing it
But we are so grateful for good friends, who made our day just as fun!!
Thanks Harris family for such a great day!
