Build A Bear

Monet was able to come with us for one night to Camarillo to see Linda for Mother's Day.
and instead of us spoiling Linda, Linda spoiled Monet!
She took her to Build-A-Bear
It was Monet's first time and she was so excited.
All morning long and in the car ride she would look over at me and just start smiling and give me a thumbs up, she couldn't hold it in!! It was so cute!

She picked the Thin Mint bear
He was my favorite too,
Our favorite ice cream is Mint Chip...
Monet named him CHIP

Monet picked the Surfer Dude outfit for Chip
Thanks Linda for spoiling Monet!!
She has slept with it every night and I know it was a day she won't forget!!

 Diva much?!
She wanted to carry all the bags, she had a hard day...SHOPPING!!
We love Monet so much and are so grateful to have her in our life!
I don't know what we would do without her!!
Thanks Rodessa and Eric for letting her come to Camarillo with us

Last Spring Game

Kyle's last spring football game was this weekend.
His parents came up for the day to watch and hang out with us.
Kyle's Aunt Mary also came, along with Shanna, her boyfriend Jake and a couple other friends.

Dad took us to dinner after and then to the movie 42, which was so great.
We loved it.

We're we sad?
................
NO!!
 {haha}
We still have the whole season to look forward to.
I am so grateful that Kyle has the talent he does, so that is able to have a football scholarship to help get him through school.
& Kyle does love football.
With that being said, it is SOO much work- getting to practices, workouts, runs, meetings, games.
With all his school work and his church calling, Kyle will be ready for the break.

For us, last spring game means football is close to being over, which means Kyle is close to graduating, which means we will {hopefully} be having a baby soon!! ;)

We are keeping busy with work and school.
We watched Leanne and Ryan's {our friends} kids a week ago for a couple days while they were out of town.
They have 2 girls Abby & Charlie, and twins Caleb & Levi
These girls love Kyle. Probably because he is so sweet and even dresses up for their tea parties.

 Caleb & Levi
I get to watch these cute twins a couple times a week in the mornings before Monet gets out of school
I started helping their mom, Leanne out a couple months after they were born.
And now they are almost 18 months old.
I have loved every minute of it.
It is so fun to see their cute little personalities developing
I could just give them hugs and kisses all day!!

 Their mom is a rockstar!
It's a lot of work.
& even more work as they are getting older, but it's totally worth it!

I received a new church calling- Relief Society Secretary
I was able to get a gym membership at Cal Poly. So now I can go work out & see my husband for a couple minutes during the day. :)
{& when there is a break from football we can work out together}
My ankle is healing slowly but I think it is getting there. I am still in my boot but I hope to be out soon.
We are excited for summer.
We are going to Idaho and can't wait to see my family.
Our life is busy, but it is oohh so good!

Surgery Update

The surgery on my ankle went well.
I spent a week at my in-laws so my mother in law could take care of me. I'm so grateful for her!!
I laid on the couch all week with my leg up.
I didn't have to have crutches, just my boot. So I have been able to walk around.
It has felt ok, but I'm hoping it will feel better once the bruising and swelling goes down.
I'm just ready to have my normal life back and ready to walk without pain!

Kyle started Spring football a week and a half ago, he also started his first grad class this semester.
As usual we are staying busy!!

Ashley

Are goodbyes ever fun?
I don't think so.
Ashley moved back to Idaho a couple days ago & we were so sad to see her go!!
I can't complain too much, because I was lucky she was able to move here for the short time that she did.
We loved having her around.
It is so fun living by your sisters
best part...YOU ALWAYS HAVE A FRIEND.

Ashley getting on the train to go to Ventura, where my sweet mother-in-law picked her up and took her to the airport the next morning.
Thanks Linda-You're the best!!
{first train ride}

Miss you already Ashley!!
You are an awesome girl!
Keep doing all the right things and you will continue to be blessed!
XOXOXO

Easter Day

We had a fun week in Camarillo for Kyle's Spring Break.
He worked and I just relaxed
{such a good guy}

The Easter Bunny came and brought me Pitch Perfect!!
Such a funny movie.

{I know, bad photo...white & white on white}

Our friends, Melissa and Paul invited us to their house for Easter dinner.
So, after church we came home, unpacked from the last week, then headed to the White's house.
They had so much delicious food, we ate until we were stuffed.

Our Easter was small and sweet
We had a great day.

What's 3 more weeks!?

I have never mentioned on our blog that I have been in a boot since November.
It is awful! I can limp around without it, mornings are the worst.
But the boot makes it bearable to walk on.
I had surgery 5 years ago on my ankle and now it is bone on bone and there is a lot of arthritis in it and it has created bone spurs.
I am unable to bring my foot up to a 90 degree angle and I can't point it down.
It is just stuck in one spot!
The best thing for me would be to get an ankle replacement, but the doctor said to wait about 10 years because by then it would be more advanced and more like hip/knee replacements where it is done all the time.
So for now they will just go in and shave off the bone spurs. If it goes as planned, it should be pretty easy. I won't need crutches and only a little physical therapy.
The reason it has taken so long is because we had to see a few different doctors to finally find an answer that we were happy with. (One doctor said I would never walk normal again without a brace...we didn't go back to her!!)
Then we had to wait for some insurance things to go through so finally we scheduled my surgery for today!
It was going to be perfect! It's Kyle's Spring break, my surgery was in Ventura (by where his parents live) and he was going to work for his dad for the week  and a half while I recovered at my in-laws.
& Ashley was going to watch Monet for me.

Because of some things that were overlooked when my surgery was scheduled it got changed to April 15. So what's 3 more weeks!?
Don't know why it couldn't work out, but there must be a reason.

So I sent Kyle on the train to go work for his Dad!

Make me some money Honey!
It was Kyle's first train ride since he was a kid, so he so kindly let me take a picture!
I'm going to go to Camarillo this weekend and next, so..
I won't be missing him too much!!

Time Out For Women

In October my friend April organized and planned a girl's weekend
There were 7 of us and we were going to go to Visalia for Time Out For Women
Which is an awesome conference organized by Deseret Book
Just a couple weeks before, April and 3 of the other girls had unexpected events come up and weren't going to be able to make it.

We changed our plans around a little and I was going to drive now.
I was planning to pick my friends Melissa and Brooke up at 10:30, well I got in my car and it was dead! I called my sister Ashley to come and jump me-but it didn't work-something else was wrong with the car!
I called Melissa and she said she could drive.
I was sick the night before and I was just thinking, "I am not suppose to go on this trip!"
I went back down to my car to get my bags out of the trunk and...It wouldn't open!! (Not even with the key)
We tried everything! We made the alarm go off, got our hands greasy, everything!
At this point I was pretty sure I was NOT meant to go on this trip!!
{I had tried calling Kyle for an hour and he didn't feel his phone vibrate-he was in class. Yes, he had 16 missed calls}
Long story short, my awesome neighbor Bentley came over and he helped us jump it long enough to get the trunk open.
Finally, 1 1/2 hours later we were on our way!

{Melissa and I}

There were two speakers on Friday night and a days worth on Saturday.
John Bytheway was the first speaker and while listening to him, it came into my mind that I was suppose to come to this conference, but there was someone else who didn't want me to.

I am so grateful I went!! I was so spiritually uplifted and it's just what I needed.
They travel all over so if they are having a conference near you-GO!! You will not regret it.

The gospel is amazing, and I am so grateful that I am blessed with it.

The weekend was full of laughter, new friends and tears. It was perfect!!

Homesick

My heart will always be in Idaho. I couldn't have asked for a better place to be raised. I loved being in a small town. I loved that going to the Drive-In was the exciting thing to do on a Friday night. I loved my small Teton High School. I loved having a close relationship with my school teachers. I loved going into grocery stores and knowing I would see someone I knew. I loved having my best friends, who were my cousins, next door, and I loved spending time with them. I cherish the memories we have made.
I love Idaho.

EQP

It's true...

Kyle was called as Elders Quorum President
He is already busy with school and football, but I know he will do an amazing job with this calling.
They picked the right person!
He loves the gospel and gives 110% in whatever he does.
Love you babe!

CraZy IN lOVe

We kept our tradition up this Valentine's Day.
We had a lunch date instead of a dinner date though.
We went to Pirate's Cove and had sushi while overlooking the beautiful ocean on a beautiful day.

That night we had our other sweet little Valentine.
So I made dinner and set up the table to make it special for Monet.
She loved it!!

Kyle was lucky enough to have 2 Valentines!!

We love LOVE and are so in love.
With each other and with this sweet girl.
Our favorite thing though...
Is showing our love for one another everyday of the year

Holiday Fun

We were able to decorate our little apartment for Christmas this year,
even though it was down and put away before Christmas was here
(We didn't want to do it when we got back from Hawaii)
I wanted to have at least one post about our Holiday fun, so here it is.

Our cute little tree
 New Pajamas

My mom came and stayed for a week and a half
We really didn't do much but it's always fun just to enjoy each others company

We loved having her here!!
Being the talented woman that she is, my Mom made us stockings.
I told her my idea, we went to the fabric store, picked out some fabric and she mad these- without a pattern!! So talented. Kyle and I love them and her
I still need to get out names on them, but that will have to be next Christmas

All the fun things we did in Hawaii was our Christmas gift to each other this year
but we did fill each others stockings
We got things like-
movies, earrings, socks, headphones, candy, key chain (for our new car)
Just sweet little stocking stuffers

We also enjoyed the Holidays by making and taking around caramel popcorn and peanut butter popcorn
It was so fun to make it and tasted so good!
Monet made sure there were no seeds in the popcorn
Cute Girl
Kyle helped too!!
He is the greatest

We love the Holidays and can't believe they already came and went, but we are excited for the many great things to come in 2013
