Big News

This cute boy just got into Grad School!!
{Not pregnant yet ;) }
Kyle applied to the Grad Program here at Cal Poly and just received an email that he was accepted.
I am so proud of him!
Kyle works so hard to get good grades and it is paying off.
He will graduate in June 2013 with his bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering
{Not to be confused with an Architecture degree}
Kyle will start his graduate program in September 2013
He will graduate in June 2014 with his Masters in Architectural Engineering.
{One Year program. Wahoo!!}
Cal Poly has the number one Architectural Engineering program in the nation.
We have been so blessed for Kyle to be able to attend this University and play football.
A year and a half left...WE CAN DO IT!

Holiday Fun

We were able to decorate our little apartment for Christmas this year,
even though it was down and put away before Christmas was here
(We didn't want to do it when we got back from Hawaii)
I wanted to have at least one post about our Holiday fun, so here it is.

Our cute little tree
 New Pajamas

My mom came and stayed for a week and a half
We really didn't do much but it's always fun just to enjoy each others company

We loved having her here!!
Being the talented woman that she is, my Mom made us stockings.
I told her my idea, we went to the fabric store, picked out some fabric and she mad these- without a pattern!! So talented. Kyle and I love them and her
I still need to get out names on them, but that will have to be next Christmas

All the fun things we did in Hawaii was our Christmas gift to each other this year
but we did fill each others stockings
We got things like-
movies, earrings, socks, headphones, candy, key chain (for our new car)
Just sweet little stocking stuffers

We also enjoyed the Holidays by making and taking around caramel popcorn and peanut butter popcorn
It was so fun to make it and tasted so good!
Monet made sure there were no seeds in the popcorn
Cute Girl
Kyle helped too!!
He is the greatest

We love the Holidays and can't believe they already came and went, but we are excited for the many great things to come in 2013

THE BIG ISLAND

I stopped posting about everyday once we got to the big island, and that is because we didn't go go go as much- we just relaxed!
On December 26th we flew from Oahu to Kona then we drove about 20 mins to Waikoloa Village where we were staying
 (view from our balcony)
It was so pretty and such a cute new development
There were shops all around and lots of other Hotels and Condos

We went up to the Waikoloa Hilton one day
They have a tram that takes you around because the Hotel is so big
 Brittany and I
They even had dolphins to play with
(For a large amount of course$$$)
The dolphins were so cute, some of them even had babies

We rented mopeds one day and rode around Waikoloa Village
We have never rode Mopeds before so it was a first for us
 We loved it!!
Big guy on a little ride

Beach Day
Hapuna Beach
The waves here were huge. They are the #1 beach in the state for spinal cord injuries
We saw a man being pulled from the water-way too scary.
None of us got in.
We didn't spend too much time at the beach, since we live right by it and aren't huge fans of the sand
But I'm glad we went at least one day, it was crazy watching the huge waves
Julia and I have the same suit, so we had to get a picture together

Our sweet Biya, Kyle's Grandma, took us all out to dinner at ROYS on Sunday night
It was so delicious
Kyle's grandparents met us at the big island for the week

Almost everybody got Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi.
I got Salmon- It was the best fish we have tasted
For dessert we all had a chocolate lava cake-way too good.
 Thanks Biya!!

Most of our time on the Big Island was spent at the pool
laying out, reading & swimming
Just what I love most

We had such an amazing trip and we are so grateful we were able to go with family and make so many new memories.
Thanks Mom and Dad for the awesome 2 week Christmas Break

All in one day

We had one big Adventure Day on the big island
We started early and ended late
We all loaded up in the mini van and drove to Hilo to a swap meet,
then we went to a zoo and ended the day by driving down to the Volcano.
oh and stopping by the black sand beach on our way home

Here is that same story in pictures
 The zoo was exciting
Kyle's brother, Trevor, jumped the fence to see the white&black tiger- so that's kind of crazy

Volcano

Black Sand Beach
(We couldn't find our camera this day, so we didn't get too many picture)
It was a long memorable day

I need to write about one more thing that Dave did on almost a daily basis
PALM TREE SEED PICKING
My father in law has a tree farm and loves to grow all different kinds of palm trees
It's a hobby
so while we were in Hawaii he would pick palm tree seeds
With Julia always there to help
He would go to the extremes to get these seeds
It was so funny and we were always laughing
